## What happens when you change the grade level Changing the grade level in the settings will not delete any of your existing learning data (mastery levels or review schedules). The grade level simply determines which kanji are included in your study set. - Raising the grade level keeps your mastery progress for all previously studied kanji, and the kanji from the new grade level are added to your study set (the colors in the kanji list are preserved as well). - Lowering the grade level means kanji above that grade will temporarily stop appearing in quizzes, but your data is retained — if you raise the grade level again later, everything will be restored exactly as it was. If changes don't seem to appear right away, try reloading the page. If you live outside Japan and your child does not attend a Japanese school, feel free to choose whatever grade level best matches your child's current ability.
